alexander gosling

Alexander Gosling (Chairman)

Alexander holds a Master in Engineering/Science from Cantab, UK. He was a founding member of Cambridge Consultants and in 1976 became the founding director of Invetech, in Australia. Alexander has been working in the field of process and product development and technology commercialisation and strategy, for clients ranging from high tech start-ups to "smoke-stack" industry global companies, for over 40 years.

Mark Bonner

Mark Bonnar

Mark started his career with semiconductor equipment vendor Applied Materials Inc. based in California and during this time worked with many of the World's top chip manufacturers including Philips, Siemens & Intel. Subsequently Mark gained considerable start-up experience in the UK including as CEO of Applied Thermal Control Ltd, a manufacturer of precision cooling systems. Prior to joining Cleantech Ventures in 2008 Mark was part of CSIRO's commercial transactions group and responsible for the commercial exploitation of intellectual property emerging from Australia's national industrial research organisation through spin-out, licensing and divestment.

Currently Investment Director with Cleantech Ventures, Mark has originated and managed new investments in the areas of energy efficiency, waste and water treatment, renewables, advanced materials and energy storage while sourcing and assessing many new investment opportunities each year. Mark holds a BSc in applied physics and a PhD in materials science from Heriot Watt University (UK), professional qualifications in innovation management from Cranfield Business School (UK), is a chartered physicist and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Ric Gros

Ric Gros

Ric Gros, born in Chile and educated in Australia has an extensive international commercial background servicing mining and other related industries.

As Managing Director of Dixon Asia Pacific, Ric oversaw the establishment of the Australian operations in 1996 from a greenfield site, later including the Acquisition of Minsup, establishing Dixon as the premier supplier of Industrial Hose Couplings to the Australian Mining industry.

In 2005 Ric became Managing Director of Korvest Ltd, a Publicly listed company 46% owned by Hills Industries. Korvest through, Ezystrut is a leading supplier of electrical cable trays and pipe supports to the mining industry. Its Galvanising division also services the corrosion protection needs of large infrastructure work.

His Current role as Group General Manager Home Hardware and Eco, a Division of Hills Ltd, Ric oversees several Businesses which include manufacturing, sales and distribution of Height Safety Products, Fall Arrest Systems, Scaffolding, Water harvesting & storage solutions and an extensive range of complementary products required in general infrastructure in Australia and Overseas.

Bill Nikolovski

Bill Nikolovski

Bill Nikolovski has more than 25 years experience in growing businesses within the manufacturing and services sectors across industries including automotive, information technology, telecommunications and consumer goods. Previous senior positions include Managing Director of Ipsos Australia; General Manager, NCS Person Australia; General Manager and Chief Operating Officer, Australian Electronic Manufacturing Services; Vice President, Metaca Corporation (USA); Manufacturing Director, Leigh Mardon; and, Manufacturing Manager, Pilkington Automotive.

His roles have included responsibility for due diligence and implementation of a significant number of corporate acquisitions and divestitures, business planning, business development, company restructuring, and manufacturing management with a strong track record in implementing lean manufacturing and six sigma strategies.

Bill brings to the MetSol Board a wealth of experience in financial, manufacturing and operational management gained across a range of industries in Australia and overseas that will provide significant value-add for investee companies. Bill holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics)(Hons) and a Bachelor of Business.

Ray Shaw

Ray Shaw completed his PhD in Extractive Metallurgy at the University of Melbourne and after two years post-doctoral research at Imperial College in London joined Rio Tinto in 1978. He spent the next 30 years focused mainly on technologies for improved processing of minerals and metals with particular emphasis on reducing energy.

During his years with Rio Tinto (formerly Comalco) Ray held several senior technical roles including Chief Advisor Technology - Energy & Climate Group, General Manager - Technology Support and Chief Scientist - Comalco Research & Technology.

After leaving Rio Tinto, aside from his role with MetSol, Ray is active with several universities, providing consulting services in minerals processing R&D. He is widely involved in the minerals processing technical community within Australia and internationally.

Kim Walker

Kim has more than 20 years of executive and consulting experience across a range of industry areas and public and private sectors. Originally a mechanical engineer, Kim has held executive marketing/strategy roles in significant corporates (NCL, EDS) and has extensive strategic management consulting experience (Andersen Consulting, Invetech, Capstone Partners). Kim has also established and developed new businesses.

The combination of management consulting and executive management has given Kim the strengths of strategic leadership and the desire to propose and implement change. Kim has engineered the "strategic repositioning" of the companies for which he has worked and seen the subsequent improvement in their performance. The last decade has seen Kim heavily involved in the commercialisation of new technologies through the development of "start-up" businesses. He has experienced the "idea-to-market" process first hand both as equity participant and consultant / mentor.
